Lesson Outline

Day 1: Introduction to the Chess Board and Pieces
Familiarize yourself with the chessboard layout, the names, and roles of each piece.
Learn the fundamental notations and how to set up the board correctly for a standard game.

Day 2: Mastering the Movement of Major Pieces
Discover the unique movements of the King, Bishop, Rook, and Queen.
Practice moving these pieces efficiently to control the board and gain strategic advantages.

Day 3: Knights, Pawns, and Opening Strategies
Explore the distinct L-shaped movements of the Knights and the special abilities of the Pawns.
Understand basic opening moves and their significance in setting the stage for a successful game.

Day 4: Combat Essentials – Capturing and Protecting
Engage in dynamic gameplay focused on capturing opponent pieces and protecting your own. Develop tactics for effective offense and defense, enhancing your overall game strategy.


Day 5:  Giving Check and getting out of check 
Learn how to identify and execute check and how to get out of check 
Participate in guided gameplay to apply your newfound knowledge and experience the thrill of a complete chess game.

We will be using the digital chess board to play so you dont need a physical one for this class. 
The teacher will be asking questions and interacting with the learners as they solve puzzles or play games with each other.
