Class Experience

Students will improve their vocal support and breathing techniques, their intention and clarity as an actor who tells stories through song and have growth in their confidence as a performer.
I have taught theatre and language arts as a certified public school teacher, performed as an actor, taught, and been a director at regional theatre companies for over 26 years.
Camp Broadway performers can expect to spend time outside of class learning lyrics, rehearsing songs, rehearsing choreography, and preparing materials needed for their in-class final performance.
Please print and bring a copy of your lyric sheet, character development form, something to write with, a water bottle, and a second device for music.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Written assessment available upon request.
4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
During Camp Broadway class rehearsals, performers will need to be in a relatively noise-free space, where they can sing at full voice and perform any choreography full out. Pets, television shows, and siblings are all great, but sadly background noise and distractions hinder an effective camp rehearsal experience. Performers are encouraged to wear clothing that is easy and comfortable to move in and a flexible tennis shoe or sneaker. Please print and bring a copy of your lyric sheet, character development form, something to write with, a water bottle, and a second device for music.
