Description
Class Experience
This class is all about the 4C's: communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. Learners will meet for five days to chat, create and solve different types of challenges with their dolls. Each class will start off with an icebreaker activity where learners can get to know one another. Our time together will also include doll discussion time where the dolls can role play as they discuss a conversation prompt related to the theme of the day. Sessions will include design...
Students will practice communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
I am a technology lab teacher at a STEM school and mom of an 11 year-old Barbie lover.
Some learners may choose to work longer on the design, test, and improve phases of the STEM process. This may require that continue working outside of our meeting time to complete designs.
Doll 2-3 sheets of aluminum foil 2-3 plastic shopping bags a pair of old socks (they will be cut to make doll clothing) toilet paper Scissors Tape 4-6 sheets of construction or drawing paper 4 small paper (or styrofoam) cups *rubber bands *straws *pipe cleaners *balloons * Amount needed per learner varies due to personal preference or design strategy.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
7 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
