In this 5-day winter camp, artists will practice fun watercolor techniques to make exciting paintings and master the medium.

This summer camp is all about applying basic watercolor techniques to create masterful art. We will thoroughly examine using the wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush, layering, lifting, wax-resist, salt-painting, and other techniques. We will workshop colors and blending, paint individual subjects (such as animals, plants, and monsters),...
Students will apply knowledge wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush, layering, lifting, wax-resist, and salt-painting to make comprehensive watercolor paintings. Students will explore their creativity in choosing colors, subject matter, and techniques to create their compositions.
I received my AA in studio art in 2016, and I have been teaching art since 2020, when I led a paint tutorial for a sixth grade birthday party that was almost cancelled due to the pandemic. I really enjoyed the experience and became excited about the idea of sharing art and creativity with other artists. I love both the science and subjectiveness of art--I think there's a lot we can learn from it, and I can't wait to share it with your learners!
-Watercolor paints (palettes): $6+ -A pad of watercolor paper (Michael's or Target sells it in pads): $4+ -Watercolor paint brushes (Michael's): $6+ -Pencil -Eraser -2 reusable, disposable cups of water for cleaning brushes -An old rag or paper towels -*Optional: Masking or Painter's tape ~*Optional: Hairdryer with low setting In addition for Days 4 and 5: -White crayon -Salt
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
