Class Experience

These are chaotic times, and let’s be honest, it is hard to keep our chill 100% of the time. If your student struggles with emotional regulation, temper tantrums, aggressive attitudes, or just needs practical coping mechanisms to help cool down, this is the class for them! In this one-time course, I will be teaching the students how to recognize triggers that may bring up frustration and stop them dead in their tracks so they can remain calm, recognize their feelings, and communicate them effectively to the adults around them. We will be using creative worksheets to measure and understand their feelings from completely calm to out of control. When children can understand and be comfortable in their feelings, they can better react and create positive solutions. We will then identify healthy coping mechanisms such as breathing exercises and grounding strategies to help keep calm, even in stressful situations. Your student will create plans and lists of what makes them calm and what to do when they begin to feel their emotional thermometer rising! I am a very hands-on teacher. I want the students to laugh, play, and have fun because I believe that is when meaningful learning takes place. We will spend time coloring, sharing, and interacting with one another through eye-catching worksheets, intentional slides, and purposeful discussions. Your learner is not required to have any previous knowledge or experience with this subject! This is not a Therapy Class.
