1 hour per week. Student will be expected to practice dog training for homework.Assessment
Students can share videos of progress in the classroom.Class Experience
This class focuses on ways to keep our dog calm and behavied. Topics are as follows: Basic Training Techniques Puppy Energy Excercises and Activities Relaxation Protocols The class is all on the outschool platform and consists of videos,helpful webiste and posts for you to share your dog's videos! There will also be discussion posts! It is a student's job to post videos of trying the activities with their dogs. After I post a teaching video, the student will have all week to try it out with their dog and post. * The teacher will reply to all discussion posts/videos daily and even offer live help as needed.Students will be asked to interact and comment on each others videos as well. There will be an option for an interactive jeopardy game. This can be played with other classmates or family members. A prior basic training is suggested (down, stay, leave it ) but not required! We will review during week 1! Weeks will be as follows: Week 1- We will review the basic training needed, such as sit, stay, leave it and down. Week 2- This week we will work on how to calm puppy energy, such as jumping, biting and all around hyper behavior. Week 3- This week we will be discussing k9 conditioning, agility games, and other ways to burn dog energy. Week 4- This final week we will work on the relaxation protocol and some helpful commands. As a teacher and trainer, I love to be positive and encouraging with student and dogs.
Learning Goals
Student will be able to use the postive techniques to train their dog to be calmer and more relaxed.
