Calm & Confident - On-Going Language Arts Tutoring by Teacher Marcy

😊My name is Marcy Drexler and I have been teaching on Outschool with Times Tales for 3 years!  I have 2 degrees in education, over 20 years experience teaching and have homeschooled my three daughters for 10 years.
❤️The philosophy behind my teaching style is pretty simple - children need an environment that is positive, calm and enjoyable to learn.  So that is exactly what I do.  My main goal is for children who I teach to feel confident and unhurried, there is nothing in my teaching style that would lead a child to feel frustrated or worried.  I love to see victories in mastery of learning concepts, victories can come in any size, at any time and I love to celebrate them all.  As a parent myself, I am uniquely aware that progress is important when signing a child up for a class, so I teach my students the way I want my own children taught, there is always something accomplished in classes with me that children can carry into their in-person learning environment.
🎯The concepts that I teach are as varied as the families and children that I serve.  I am very experienced at tutoring math, only because I understand how math can make children FEEL and when broken down into easy, manageable steps and taught in the style that is right for each individual learner, math doesn't have to feel super hard.  Although I lead with teaching math, I am always open to teaching and learning with my students in any subject.  You can be sure, I will do research before classes to ensure I can make my class feel different and fun, and NOT a repeat of traditional learning techniques that probably haven't worked with the learners before.
I am happy to support learning in any subject and eagerly look forward to discussing individual learning plans with parents of my enrolled learners.
🎉Fun Perks about enrolling in my class:  we will laugh, we will talk about feelings behind the learning, I will build your child up, your child is a priority to me just like my own (I know what it feels like when others love my kids and it is the best feeling), my husky likes to join in class (and by join in, I mean lay on my bed and look cute), I am always available to talk or answer questions or readjust learning plans with parents:  why? because parents are the first and most important teachers of their children, and finally what I do is student-led because without the input and leadership of their own learning children lose the important drive to be life-long learners.
