Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
This is the perfect class for students that want to have some fun with math and have a social outlet to share their interest and skills with other students. Each week I will have a set of brain teasers/ puzzles/complex math problems that I will present to the students. I will pair them up with another student(s) or they can compete independently if they are more comfortable. I will be available to coach each student/team and after the students come up with a solution we will review each problem together and see how they did. This is a great way to build problem solving/collaboration skills. I see this as a time to have fun, socialize, and, most importantly, practice our problem solving skills. I am open to students enrolling as teams.

Week of December 5th, Getting to know each other and learning the format of the class. I will introduce a select set of practice problems that will help me establish the level of future brain teasers/puzzles/math problems that are suited to the students enrolled in the class.
Week of December 12, First week of competition, students will be divided into teams and given a set of brain teasers/puzzles/math problems to work through.
Week of January 10, Second week of competition, students will be divided into teams and given a set of brain teasers/puzzles/math problems to work through.
Week of January 17, Third week of competition, students will be divided into teams and given a set of brain teasers/puzzles/math problems to work through.
