40 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing class, we will learn about a different animal each week. We will discuss the animals habitat, diet, and fun facts. Using key words in Spanish we will build on students vocabulary and grammar usage. We will have a slide presentation with interactive slides and games for children to participate. Then we will move onto our art class where I will direct students in a step by step drawing of our animal of the week. Again using key words in Spanish we will build on students vocabulary and grammar usage. This class is for those wanting to improve vocabulary and grammar while not being totally immersed. In time students will have a little portfolio of all their animals, and build on their Spanish! I will provide a fun fact worksheet for students to have about our animal of the week.
Learning Goals
Week 1. Let's learn about 'Los Elefantes' (Elephants)
Week 2. Let's learn about 'El Zorro' (Foxes)
Week 3. Let's learn about 'La Mariposa' (Butterflies)
New animals will be added according to students preferences.
This class will run with THREE classes a month and one week off beginning at the START of each new month.
Students will build on their knowledge of different animals of all classifications and families in English and key words in Spanish. They will also build fine motor skills by using basic shapes like triangles, rectangles, circles, and so on to create our animal drawings. Having an ongoing class will build confidence as well as social skills. I look forward to seeing your little ones in class soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Saludos Greetings Friends,
My name is Genelle, and I'm so excited to be here on the Outschool Platform! I have been teaching in Spanish and English for over 20 years here in the US and abroad as a volunteer. Truly a rewarding experience!
For the past six years I've been teaching secularly as an ESL teacher and have had the joy of teaching Spanish as well. I love languages, Spanish being my first love, but I've studied Russian, Tagalog, and Arabic. Being a learner myself I truly understand the challenges that come with learning a foreign language and how to learn in fun and stimulating way.
I completed my BA in Fundamentals and Methodology of Education, and I also obtained a 120 hour TESOL certification. These credentials have enabled me to fine tune my teaching skills and give engaging classes to my students.
Learning a foreign language is a skill that will enhance your child in all areas of life. As a mother and homeschooler to our young son, we want him to have this type of exposure as well. He knew all the parts of his body as a baby in Spanish before he recognized them in English. Never to young to learn!
My love of languages also delve into the Arts so don't be surprised to see some offerings of art classes as well. Thank you for stopping by, can't wait to meet your precious youngsters in class...¡bienvenidos a mi clase!
