Calligraphy Club Weekly On-Going Class: Practice Modern Calligraphy With Us
What's included
1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this weekly class, we practice our basic calligraphy strokes, go over tips (as covered in my calligraphy 101 class) and build our skills with flourishes and embellishments. We will complete a new project each week, adding drawings, shadows, and other complementary pieces to our calligraphy. This weekly class focuses on actual brush marker calligraphy as compared to the faux calligraphy taught in my other classes. Please check the supplies list below! Usually students just need a pencil, some paper, and some brush tip (not chisel tip) markers or pens. Whatever pens or markers are used, they should have a flexible (not hard) tip to be able to get different widths of strokes. Week of October 1st (Wednesday Class beginning in November will start with this as the first class): Calligraphy used to write "Schools in Session" and we'll draw a globe, school supplies and other school-themed embellishments Week of October 8th (Wednesday Class beginning in November will have this as the second week class, and so on): Calligraphy used to write “Hello Fall” and we’ll draw fall-themed leaves and pumpkins Week of October 15th: Calligraphy used to write "Sweater Weather" and we’ll draw a tiny sweater underneath our words, and a flourish and shadows if time permits. Week of October 22nd: Calligraphy used to write "Stay Brew-tiful" while we’ll draw a small mug with either coffee or tea underneath. Further weeks TBA! **** New topics will be introduced in upcoming weeks for further dates. Please note, this is a weekly on-going class. If subscribed, you will be charged weekly for each class. You can unsubscribe at anytime.**** Students can choose color options they prefer most. Students will be guided step-by-step and given creative liberty to change and adapt their compositions as we draw together. ***Please note, some students may not have time to finish coloring their piece in class depending on their optimal drawing speed. I will work at a steady pace and frequently gage where students are at during the lesson. It is my goal to help them finish their drawing, but sometimes this doesn’t allow for coloring completion before class is over. Thank you for understanding.***

Hello Parents!
Thank you for stopping by my profile. If there is a class you're interested in but you don't see your preferred time, please message me or send me a schedule request. I am excited to work with your student(s) on Outschool!
In my classroom, I aim to create an encouraging, fun, and challenging environment so your student can grow in their artistic and academic skills. As a former Art Teacher, most of my classes are art-focused (calligraphy, drawing, hand-lettering, design, and script writing). These are subjects I love and have great experience in. We will have a blast creating and having fun while doing so!
I have a Bachelors Degree of Science, where I majored in Business with an emphasis in Marketing, Design, and Communications. I also have my Advanced TEFL Teaching Certification. I have most recently been teaching ESL to Chinese students virtually for the past 3 years, and have taught over 3,600 classes thus far. It's been so fun learning how to engage and connect with students across the world while working in a virtual classroom. Before teaching English, I taught Art for 2 years at a Classical School. I had the joy of teaching all K-8th grade students, where I also specialized in teaching Spelling and Cursive. Prior to teaching K-8th graders, I worked with college students for 8 1/2 years as a University Adviser. It was my job to prepare college students for their college studies and career pursuits.
As an addition to my career in education, I used my love for art, design, and hand-lettering to start an online clothing and gift shop in 2015. In our prime, the shop had even been featured on BuzzFeed and Huffington Post for our unique and fun t-shirts. It's been a blast watching simple hand-drawn lettering ideas turn into creative designs that sold on shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, and prints from my art studio. Definitely an exciting experience I am so grateful for!
When I am outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, art, exercising, and reading. I hope to see your student in my classroom soon!
Thanks for stopping by!
