In this one time class, students will learn why we brush our teeth, why we need sleep, why it is a good idea to be clean.

Students will learn why we do things like brush our teeth. They will learn about the bacteria that can cause cavities. They will learn why we need sleep, and what can happen if we don't get enough sleep. They will learn why it is important to be clean, and how we use to not always be so clean. I enjoy hearing from the students so I keep my class size small. That way we can have an interactive class with lots of questions and comments from the students. Students can interact at their comfort level. I may call on a student just to check in with him or her, but I won't force them to participate. I don't like to give homework or assessments. I try to ask questions during class to gauge their understanding.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to discuss why we need to brush our teeth, and why we need sleep. The students will be able to discuss what happens when we do not get enough sleep. Students will also be able to discuss how people weren't always so clean and why it is important that we stay clean.

UPDATE: I am taking a break from Outschool. After the spring semester of 2024 ends, I will take a hiatus.
I offer a variety of science and math classes. I have close to ten years of teaching experience. I've worked with students of all ages including young adults. I experience teaching in the classroom and teaching virtually. I have a B.A. from Louisiana State University.
I've helped tutoring student reach their goals whether it's to pass a standardized test or get a passing grade in a course.
I think that a basic understanding of science enhances one's life. It opens up a world hidden to most people. Studying science and math helps children to develop critical thinking skills that can be applied to all areas of life. My goal in all my classes is to inspire the students to study science. I want them to always ask questions and to stay curious.

When I am not teaching or prepping for classes, I enjoy crafting, reading, working out, and spending time with my dog.
