In this course, we will learn about a new animal each week. No prior knowledge is required. Just an interest in the material. This class can accompany any biology courses. This is a great way to introduce students to topics usually taught in a high school biology class. We will cover a variety of animals, insects, and fish. We will discuss where these animals fall into the current model of taxonomy. We will discuss their habitat, diet, and evolution. Students are welcome to share facts...
Students will gain knowledge about the diversity of the world we live, and gain an appreciation for the creatures we share the world with.
We will have a quiz each week to test our knowledge. If we are unable to complete it in class, I will ask the students to complete it after class.
A notebook for notetaking
I do not have a formal assessment, but each week we will review what we learned and take a short quiz.
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
