Welcome to the world of Call of Cthulhu, a tabletop RPG system taking place in a world much like our own, but where incomprehensible forces of cosmic evil exist just out of view. Can your investigators keep these forces from destroying our own world, and what are they willing to sacrifice to make this occur? Students will learn teamwork, collaborative storytelling, improvisation and practice basic math, problem-solving skills, and engage in moral discourse about their actions through the lens of an exciting and engaging game of Call of Cthulhu by taking on the roles of investigators pitted against an array of cunning foes. No knowledge of Call of Cthulhu is required. The first session will include a brief rundown of the rules along with the assignment of pre-generated characters. Evaluation, if requested, will be based on how well the students come together to face dynamic, unexpected, situations. Do they know what their characters are capable of? Are they able to work with their fellow students to overcome obstacles? Are they willing to inhabit the roles of their characters and enjoy the fun of improvisation together?
