Class Experience

Step into the shoes of ordinary individuals about to embark on an extraordinary journey!

Our prelude chapter takes you back to 1921, where you'll join an archaeological expedition in the mountains of Peru. As a member of this team, you'll begin as a completely normal person, unaware of the cosmic horrors that lie ahead.

Masks of Nyarlathotep is a legendary Call of Cthulhu campaign that will take you from the innocence of discovery to the depths of darkness. Your adventure starts with the mysteries of the past and spans the globe, leading you through the 1920s from New York to England, Egypt, Kenya Colony, Shanghai, and Western Australia.

This epic quest will challenge your wit, planning, and resourcefulness. You'll need to adapt to foreign cultures, confront terrifying realities, and battle dark forces. Your journey will test your endurance against governmental interference and cultist harassment.

As your Keeper, I'll immerse you in the world of the 1920s. Your choices will determine your path—will you emerge triumphant, descend into madness, or meet a fate worse than death?

Are you ready to begin this unforgettable adventure and face the Masks of Nyarlathotep?

The week of November 15th, the learners will design their characters and decide how their characters ended up together as investigators.

The first week, we make characters for this great campaign.

The second week, we start the prelude chapter.

The third week, the prelude chapter continues.

Call of Cthulhu is excellent for an Ongoing class. The introductory scenario requires no prior knowledge of the setting or the system. Also, character creation is much faster than in DnD. In DnD, it takes a new player about an hour, if not more, to create a new character. Note that a player does not have to be present on class 1 or 2. The learners who are present on those classes get to make certain decisions re: initial base design and the first mystery, but each adventure is a stand alone story, so it is easy to join later and still participate in new adventures. Thus, if a learner joins after week 4 or even later, we can build a character together quickly and then jump straight in, as the game system is easy to learn.
