This class is set up so that a student can learn all the content in a college level Calculus course before they go take it in college. This would be an excellent choice for a student that will enter a highly competitive environment and needs to get an A in the college class. I have taught this course through a college for over 10 years, so I know what will be expected of them. I have taught algebra and higher level math classes for over 20 years, and have a Masters Degree in Secondary Math Education. I know what skills students need to be proficient at in order to be successful in future math classes and enjoy helping students get there. Specifically, I have taught college calculus the last 15 years.
Practice problems will be assigned each week with an answer key provided.
A graphing calculator such as a TI 84 is recommended but not required. Most college courses allow a TI 84, so it would be good to learn how to use it during my class.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
The videos I post will be Youtube links that are embedded in the Outschool classroom page.
