Description

Class Experience

Students will learn techniques for baking a moist and delicious cake and icing it with buttercream icing. Students will learn how to make different consistencies of buttercream to use for icing the cake, piping flowers, or other decorating. Students will then learn how to use a piping bag and make several designs. Finally, they will put these skills together to make 2 different cake designs: a sunflower and a Unicorn cake.
I taught cake decorating at a local craft store for a couple of years and then ran a cake decorating business making birthday and wedding cakes for several years. I've taught children's cake decorating classes several times for different community groups and birthday parties.
Each week, students will be making and decorating a cake with the theme of the week. This will allow them to practice their craft and develop their skills.
