Class experience
In each 1 hour class I will demonstrate for students how to: 1. Crumble a baked cake 2. Mix in the right amount of frosting to achieve the perfect cake pop dough consistency for smooth shapes 3. I ran a successful home baking business under cottage law licensing from 2020 to 2022 specializing in cake pops, macarons, dessert tables and other small treats.
Baked and cooled cake (from box mix or from scratch are both fine) Frosting Medium to large size mixing bowl Cake pop sticks Candy wafers for dipping (1-3 colors depending on design) Coconut or palm oil Small microwave safe cup for dipping cake pops Sprinkles Cake pop stand or alternative stand for upright storage Additional supplies depending on design: piping bag or Ziplock bag, mini ice cream cones, Cheerios or M&Ms, or pretzel sticks Recommended, but not required, supplies: Gloves Parchment paper Small cookie scoop (1oz)
Learners will need to utilize the microwave to heat their chocolate and will need access to the kitchen. Cake pop decorating can be messy and although "clean as you go" principles will be included in the course, some cleanup time may still be required. Class will include time to learn and practice technique, but students will have leftover cake pop dough and may need additional time if they would like to dip and decorate extras.
