In this 6 week course, art and plant science merge as learners create a watercolor and ink painting of a different type of cactus each week. As we discuss each species learners will create a collage style interactive science notebook.
Class experience
All cactus need full sun and not much water, right? Actually, that's not necessarily true. Each species requires their own special care for them to thrive in their environment and I can not wait to share my passion and knowledge on each one of them with you! Positive feedback goes such a long way with young artists'. After class, I encourage all learners to post a picture in our classroom of their final work of art! This gives all of the classmates and myself the opportunity to comment on each piece in hopes to connect and build a deeper sense of community. For the journal: 1. Watercolor or mixed media paper spiral. We will not be painting in these, but the glue and pen marks do best with thicker paper.
