C-V-C Word Bingo for Beginning Readers

n this one time class students will play different variations of CVC Word Bingo to practice the beginning reading skill of decoding and sounding out simple CVC words such as cat, dog, map etc.

Class Experience

In this class we will practice reading words with the Consonant Vowel Consonant  (CVC) pattern. In this class we will play different variations of bingo using C-V-C words. (Standard Bingo, Four Corners, Black Out etc...) Learners will get to interact with each other and with their peers throughout the game. Students should have a basic knowledge of letter sounds, but in the case a student doesn't know the word that is called, I will provide visual support. We will also discuss and practice the necessary social skills involved in playing games with peers.Those include being kind to other players win or lose. This class will use a printable bingo card to be marked with a marker or crayon. Please sign up for class at least 10 minutes before the start time, so that there is time to print the card that will be sent to you.

Students will practice their ability to read and spell C-V-C words.
