Description

Class Experience

This 3-week course will meet weekly and each class will feature a different book from the "Fly Guy" series by Tedd Arnold. We will use these funny beginning chapter books to practice our listening and reading comprehension skills by answering questions about the story and completing different literacy based activities based on the week's book.

Each class will start with a read aloud of the week's book. While reading, I will model and assist students in asking questions related to making...

This class is taught in English.

Students will practice:
-answering comprehension questions related to the story
-listening skills both while the teacher reads the story and while peers answer questions
turntaking concepts related to conversation
-identifying story elements
-following directions to complete a directed drawing
-comparing and contrasting using a Venn Diagram
- identifying problem and solution

Students will need:
- worksheet associated with lesson printed prior to class meeting 
(All printables will be provided after signing up for the course.)
- pencils
- coloring materials (i.e. crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.)

35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
