Butterfly Wing Salt Painting

In this one-time class, students will create a butterfly wing painting using different painting effects! 

 The students will create a butterfly wing painting design.  The students will learn watercolor blending techniques and a cool watercolor salt technique that will create an interesting effect.   The teacher will interact with each student throughout the class and monitor their progress.  The students will follow along with the teacher step-by-step on the teacher's document camera.  The teacher will model each step for this drawing/painting lesson visually and verbally.  

Before the class ends, the students will be encouraged to share their artwork with the other students and interact with them socially. 

The students will view a google slides presentation on butterflies.  The students will see a few pictures of butterflies, discuss the life cycle of butterflies, and discuss what butterflies like to eat and how they eat, how butterflies protect themselves, and a few fun facts. The teacher will engage the students in questions and discussions.   

Zoom- Please make sure to log into your Zoom Class a few minutes prior to the class start time.  You will be placed in the waiting room right before class starts.  During this time, make sure your child’s name is displayed in your Zoom link (this will make it easier for me to call on your child during class), test your audio, and make sure your laptop is plugged in or has enough battery life.
