In this one-time class, students will create a butterfly wing painting using different painting effects! 

 The students will create a butterfly wing painting design.  The students will learn watercolor blending techniques and a cool watercolor salt technique that will create an interesting effect.   The teacher will interact with each student throughout the class and monitor their progress.  The students will follow along with the teacher step-by-step on the teacher's document camera.  The...

*The students will following directions in a step-by-step guided drawing lesson.

*Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education
*NJ State Certified K-6 Elementary Teacher
*NJ State Certified K-12 Fine Arts Teacher 
*17 years teaching in a public elementary school 
*40+ years teaching and working with children

  1 file available upon enrollment*9”x12” white watercolor paper (Heavyweight is best) 
*1 pencil
*1 eraser
*1 Black oil pastel
 *1 watercolor paint set
*1 small container filled with water
*1 medium-size pointed paintbrush (I will be using size #8)
*1 paper towel
* 1 salt shaker with regular table salt inside
* A wipe to clean hands

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
