In this one-time class, the students will learn about butterflies. The students will be shown a real picture of a butterfly. The students can tell the class what they like about butterflies. The students will learn that butterfly wings are symmetrical. The students will be making their butterfly art project with chalk pastels and the butterfly template. The students will be using a butterfly template for their art project and placing it on their black paper before class. The students will encourage to make the butterfly wings symmetrical wings e.g colours. The students will learn how to use the chalk pastels on the butterfly template and the black paper to make their butterfly art project. I will be doing the art project with the students. At the end of the class, the students can show their art projects to the class.
