Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
Hi and thank you for your interest! I can't wait for you to join me as together, we learn about some of the most beneficial insects to humans! This is a fun month-long theme that will include videos, songs, arts, and crafts suitable for the age group.

The self-paced schedule allows your younger learners to watch the videos and do the crafts at a time that is FUN for them, when they are ready to learn! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in.

We will be using a program called Nearpod (but don't worry, all you need to do is click a link, you don't need to have an account or download anything!). We will be learning through recorded videos, games, 3D simulations, and more. I have also included a suggested book list if you'd like to supplement further.

Students are also welcome to use chat messaging with me or to arrange individual video chats ensure comprehension of the lessons, and/or ask questions.

What will be learning specifically?

Week One: This will be an introduction to insects in general. We will learn that insects are classified in the animal kingdom of arthopods. We will then learn the parts of an insect, how insects are cold blooded (and what it means), what an exoskeleton is, as well as some other awesome facts about insects!

Week Two: We will be learning about butterflies. We will discuss metamorphosis, types of butterflies, and more!

Week Three: This week will be all about honeybees. We will learn the life cycle of a bee, the types of jobs different bees can have, and the importance of bees to pollination.

Week Four: Ladybugs will be the topic of week four. We will look at ladybugs in depth and learn their life cycle, how they are good insects to have in your garden, and other fun facts!

See you in class!

Also be on the lookout for my other insect and science classes, coming soon!
