Students will improve their understanding of sewing two hemming techniques, the American bustle and the French bustle, leading them to manage their sewing needs or begin a summer job perhaps sewing alterations. 

I have been sewing several years and recently altered my daughter's heavy beaded prom gown using a bustle technique.  I had to choose between an American and the French style and I will demonstrate how to do both so that you are able to repeat this technique for your own needs.  I was able to shorten the long train, add layers and fullness to the back and it was so simple, I'd like to teach you!

I will demonstrate the styles and if the student chooses, they can send me a picture of their own finished work.
