-OVERVIEW- Entrepreneurs must be intentional about setting prices in order to attract customers and make a profit. In this class, students will learn how to set prices for their products or services. Paws & Tails, a popular dog walking company, is in financial trouble and need our help. They are having trouble selling their dog walking service. If Paws & Tails continue to have low sales, they will eventually go out of business. Using the knowledge we gain in class, we will work together to save Paws & Tails from financial ruin by helping them fix their prices. This class combines business, problem solving, and teamwork to create an interactive and unique learning experience. -CLASS STRUCTURE- The class is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the class to the dilemma, the second part focuses on the core concepts surrounding setting prices, and the third part is where the students use what they have learned to help Paw & Tails get out of financial trouble. MY TEACHING STYLE -I like to tease the imagination of students by presenting information in unique and unconventional ways. Specifically, I incorporate elements of play, discovery, and adventure into my classes. -My classes are structured to allow for student interaction. I also encourage students to interact with each other. -My teaching methods are very deliberate and intentional. To capture the attention of my students, I design eye-catching and vibrant digital slide shows. -My goal is to create captivating and unique learning experiences. COMMUNICATION -I communicate with all students at some point during the class. Conversely, students are able to communicate with me simply by showing “happy” fingers or by sending a message through the chat box. -I am extremely attentive to students while teaching. Therefore, I like for their cameras to be on throughout class. This allows me to observe and assess their learning. I provide friendly and timely communication and feedback to both parents and students. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -This class will appeal to learners who are interested in dogs, business, or entrepreneurship. -No previous business knowledge is required. -Learners should bring a calculator, notebook, and pen/pencil to class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn 4 things ...
-What is pricing?
-Why is pricing important?
-How to price a product or service?
-Factors that impact pricing?
Overall, this class will expand their knowledge of fundamental business concepts and provide them with a deeper understanding of the business world.
