Each class we will explore a new business case study that is relevant to our students. I will introduce a case study analysis model that will assist the class in their analysis and discussion. The class will listen to the case information and then collaboratively discuss what the issues are and how to solve them. The class will develop recommendations and possible solutions to the identified issues. Each student will have the opportunity to engage as a consultant who was hired by the business to help solve the issue.
Learning Goals
Students will have the opportunity to learn some of the issues that cause today's business to slow down or even fail. They will learn to apply critical thinking and creative problem solving skills to each case. Students will also learn how to work collaboratively and as part of a team to address business issues. Many of the methods we will use in this class will assist students as they enter higher education and business.

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a professor of management and entrepreneurship, case studies are an integral part of our teaching process. In one course, the final exam is a team-based presentation of a specific business case. I have spent several years both teaching and serving as a judge for these final presentations. My students have all commented that learning these critical thinking and analysis skills has proved invaluable in their lives and careers. I hope to inspire your children to think creatively about issues and work to create positive outcomes.
