This will be a fun and memorable class for any child (5-10) who has a passion for bunnies! My teaching style is warm and friendly and I love talking about animals! I have many years experience owning and raising fluffy bunnies and I’m excited to share my passion and bunny- joy with your bunny enthusiast! We will start the class with a story titled “Marshmallow” by: Clare Turlay, which is all about a special friendship between a cat and a new pet bunny while your child has the opportunity to color a bunny coloring page (optional) of what their favorite bunny would look like. Then I will share slides of different breeds of bunnies and various colors of bunnies too as we learn about the differences in bunny breeds, and which bunnies make the best pets! Which breed is your favorite? Finally, as a sweet surprise, I will then bring out one of my real pet bunnies to share with the class as I teach all about the care and keeping of a real pet bunny and share my experience raising baby bunnies! For the last 5 minutes, we will finish with a time of questions and discussion and sharing of our coloring page (as time allows)! Bunnies are the best pets ever so come ready to learn and talk all about your love for BUNNIES!

Your choice of a bunny coloring page (provided) and crayons. I have included some rabbit coloring pages to choose from and print for your child's enjoyment while I read a book! (optional)

Hello there! My name is Teacher Johanna! I am so excited to teach your child and witness their joy of learning! I am committed to making sure it is fun, enjoyable and thorough!
I graduated college with Honors status and received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have over 20 years experience teaching children in and out of the classroom, with a focus on teaching early childhood, English phonics, reading and literature and nature! I have experience starting and running my own preschool out of my home. Also, I am a certified TESOL and TEFL teacher who has been teaching online ESL (English Speakers of Other Languages) to students ages 4-12, since 2017, where I specialize in teaching phonics and reading classes to young children and older childern.
Furthermore, I am currently and have successfully homeschooled my own 8 children (ages 4-20), including my four adopted children from China! My passions include teaching children of all ages, world travel, reading, spending time with family, photography, writing, nature, gardening, art, and taking care of the many animals on our farm! I believe the world is our classroom and books are our maps! I try to get outside and do most of our learning and reading in nature where there is always a treasure to unearth and new discoveries to be made!
Literature is a huge passion of mine and I love taking students on adventures through the dual gift of "nature" and "literature!" I love to combine stories, nature, and experience into my thematic and engaging classes.
Most of all, nothing gives me greater joy and excitement than helping a child succeed and learn new things in life and watching all the light in their eyes emerge as they learn something fascinating or get lost in the wonder of a story! I will be offering a variety of classes in many subject areas that all have JOY as a common theme! I am so delighted to meet and teach your child and it is a great honor to guide them in new experiences, passions, and interests!
