Bullying is never ok! It is every child's right to feel safe at school as well as other places as bullying can become unsafe very quickly. As an Elementary teacher and a previous prevention Educator with the Child Protection Center, I feel it is so important to teach our children personal safety skills. Learners will be able to recognize a Bully, Target, Bystander, and Upstander. They will understand how a Bully acts like a Bully. Learners be empowered to be Upstanders for themselves or for others and how to stay safe on the Internet.
I am a previous Prevention Educator( Personal Safety and Community Awareness) with the Child Protection Center which is a private, non-profit organization aiding in the prevention, intervention and treatment of Child Abuse. I also have an Elementary Education degree in first through eighth grades and have 10 years experience in a classroom setting and 6 years teaching online and ESL. I have had extensive training over the years with this organization attending many conferences and local trainings. I offer Personal Safety Lessons on Bullying, Internet Safety, Choices and Consequences, Empathy, Being Responsible, Respecting others' Differences, and Recognizing unsafe situations just to name a few. I have taught these lessons to students ages 3-18 in the public school system. I feel prevention is key and needed in order to empower students with the knowledge and confidence to handle situations in a safe, productive, educated manner. I am beyond grateful to able to teach topics that can actually make a positive impact in our students' lives.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will watch a short video to reinforce what was learned "bullying is never okay".
