This class is for students that know their letter sounds and are ready to blend the sounds into words. If you student doesn't know their sounds, you can look into my class Learning Letter Sounds by Heart.
Class experience
In this class, we will transition from letter sounds to blending the sounds into words. Each class is a stand alone class and you can join anytime. In this class we use visual, auditory and movement to make learning to read fun. Each class we will learn through the following activities: -Visual: picture cards -Movement: Building words - movable alphabet -Writing words: white board or pencil/paper -Listening: beginning, middle and end sounds in words -Blending: read words by blending...
Students will learn how to be confident readers. Spark a love of reading. Learn to blend and sound out words.
I have been teaching for almost 20 years and hold my Montessori Early Childhood certificate and my CA Teaching Credential. I currently teach a Montessori Pre-K and K class.
Please bring: - movable alphabet (printed, magnets, or ones made by you) If you don't have moveable alphabet your student can use the white board but it will harder for students that do not yet write letters. With moveable alphabet student doesn't have to write each letter. - pencil/paper to write words.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
-I will be providing you with weekly hand-outs I have created for this class. -I will provide you a printable moveable alphabet that we will use during class (it will be one sheet with all 26 letters to print and cut out). If you do not want to print out you can use magnetic letters (lowercase letters) or you can create your own by cutting index cards into small 1-2 inch squares. (I will send directions.)
