Homework
1-2 hours per week. The coursework includes a build the words activity, which I will go through step by step in my videos so students can complete it while they watch, a writing activity, a word search and a quiz. All activities must be completed for each lesson for the best results. Parents can upload completed assignments in the classroom or send them directly to me if their student is in the self-paced version of the course.
Assessment
An assessment or quiz will be given for the second part of the lesson each time. I will give the assessment via video or parents are welcome to administer the assessment if they prefer to do that. Please write to me to inquire about the word list for this option.
Grading
I will provide feedback for worksheets that are turned in, and I will grade each quiz that is turned in and provide feedback too. This part of the course is only available to students enrolled in the self-paced version.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
I created this course to help students learn to break up a word by its sounds so that they can also learn to build the word. I will teach students how to use the sounds in each new word to spell the words. Once students have built all 18 new words in a lesson, they will practice writing every one of those new words and they will have a word search to complete that contains all of those new words too.

This class will give students lots of practice with blends and digraphs as well as some pratice with r controlled vowels and long vowel sounds. I will teach students to recognize each of these new concepts within a word. All lessons are broken up into two parts because the second part is the quiz. Each student is different, some may do fine completing all of the activities for one set of words, including the quiz, within a couple of days, while others will need to work on the learning activities one week, and then take the quiz the following week. This is why a self-paced course is an excellent way to learn!

I have created all of the materials for this class myself. Once learners have completed each part of the lesson, you can upload their completed worksheets and post them in our classroom or send them to me in a message. If you do this, I will provide feedback and additional help if needed. Please note that the feedback and additional help is for the self-paced version and not the subscription version. Thank you!
