Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Ahoy, Young Historians! Welcome to THE MAGIC TREE HOUSE! This on-going daily reading club will help your children grow a love for storytelling with an interactive reading of the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne!

In this class, learners will contribute during class by reading passages from Magic Tree House and discussing the reading with other students!

Each class will introduce new vocabulary and history facts to challenge learners and help develop their crucial critical thinking skills!

Classes meet THREE (3) TIMES PER WEEK (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

A NEW BOOK TAUGHT EACH WEEK!

Classes provide flexible enrollment, allowing students to jump in to the adventure at any time! I always do my best to ensure learners demonstrate an understanding of each story.

Building a daily reading habit is the goal of this class. By engaging with books for at least 15 minutes each day, children become better listeners, better problem solvers, and better critical thinkers! Fostering a strong relationship with books is paramount to this process.

CURIOSITY ENCOURAGED! Learners are encouraged to raise hands and ask questions! Comprehension is all about understanding, and the best way to understand something is to ask questions!!

This class focuses on harboring a love for reading by allowing students to develop a relationship with their reading material through social interaction. The goal is to instill a love for reading at an early age with a focus on comprehension.

I work hard to cater to the needs of each of my learners to promote their reading comprehension and creativity skills, while offering a fun environment to play and learn together!

Physical/Digital copies of the books are not required for this course. By utilizing the "share screen" feature, I am able to share the text with all learners.

I look forward to meeting all of my young historians and adventurers!!

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing, as well as a BA in English Literature. I love stories--Reading them. Writing them. Understanding them.--and have dedicated my life to the pursuit of storytelling. My wish is to pass along my love of reading to as many young people as possible by introducing them to stories both old and new that will entertain and inspire them.
