Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Does your writer have trouble coming up with a topic to write about? Do they often get frustrated with what to write once they come up with a topic? Or maybe your student enjoys writing little stories and you are looking to diversify their writing genre knowledge! This is the course for you!

This class focuses on introducing a different genre each week and writing a short story or writing piece. The genres covered will be Personal Narratives, Opinion Writing, Informational Writing, Fictional Narrative Writing, and Reading Response Writing. We will cycle through these genres. The more practice a student has in a specific genre, the more they will build confidence and improve!

We will change the genre each week, but I will encourage your learner to finish editing/typing their finished product! If your learner sends me their final product, I will respond with specific and positive feedback!

Below is the structure for each class:
20 minutes: Mini-Lesson on brainstorming, students will fill in graphic organizers to help organize their paper.
25 minutes: Mini-Lesson on structure and details, the rest of the class will be spent writing.
