This is a 4-week group course for the pre-teen girl who would like to learn and/or strengthen their self-confidence and self-esteem. In our current times there is so much pressure on preteens to be perfect, to look and act in a certain way, well the only way they need to look, or act is by looking and acting like themselves. Every preteen deserves to feel comfortable in their own skin and be proud of who they are, because each child is valuable, unique and special in their own ways. Confident kids grow up to be confident adults! With social media and powerful influencers all around us, it’s really easy for everyone to be constantly comparing ourselves to the “ideal” body and looks that are presented right in front of us all of the time. This is why it’s so important for kids to be confident enough to know who they are and make decisions for themselves. Preteens who are insecure are more likely to give into peer pressure or be influenced by their surroundings because they might not have the courage to speak up or might feel like it will help them fit in. Insecure adults tend to be softer spoken and it's important that kids grow up to be powerful and successful. That is why it’s crucial that kids start learning how to love themselves and feel good about themselves as young as they can. Every child needs to learn skills to be strong enough to not give into societal pressure. They need to know that they don’t need to be passive and not feel enough before those insecurities take over them. Confident kiddos grow up to be confident individuals! Every week includes a small PowerPoint with agenda for week, quote of the week (week 1 we do a get to know one another) check-ins, goal setting and conversations as a group. The workbook is available for download one you sign up for class. Week 1: Getting to know one another & Defining Confidence Week 2: Affirmations & Thoughts are Powerful. Week 3: Setting Boundaries & Mindfulness Week 4: Kissing Your Comfort Zone Goodbye &: Celebrating Success and Moving Forward: We will discuss everything we have learned and how we will move forward utilizing all we have learned. Class sizes are small (up to 6 students per class) so each student gets the attention they deserve, the class works best with at least 2 students per section as it allows the students more conversations as well, they tend to open up more not being the only student. If only one student signs up for class, they will have the option to be transferred into another class section with other students or receive a full refund. Students are encouraged to leave cameras on, in helps with conversations, engagement within and a great way to taking that 1st step in building our confidence. **PLEASE NOTE: this class is very much so conversational base, students are encouraged to join in on conversation as we work through the workbooks, share ideas and give support to one another. Please note that we cover as much of the workbook in class but due to time restraints some questions in the workbook will be left for the students to answer or think about after class then come back next week to discuss or they are more than welcome to have those discussions in the classroom discussion page which I will monitor. A supply list is attached (shows what students need each week), please download the workbook (if you cannot find it, please send me a message and I will send it to you). Please do not fill in or do any of the work in the workbook prior to class unless otherwise instructed by the teacher, as we do this together in class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I hold a Masters in Social Work (MSW), I have worked as a Social Worker in a girl's residential unit for over 4 years, my goal as their counselor was focused on assisting them in achieving their personal goals, learning life skills and building their self- confidence. I also have a daughter (she is an adult now), so I have personal experience raising a girl and as a girl myself I know how it feels to have the pressure to be perfect and struggle to try to fit in.
