In the course students will learn about different aspects of sentence structure. Students will be doing hands-on activities, reading, and writing to develop a strong foundation for sentence structure.

Welcome to my class! I'm so excited you decided to enroll. In this course we will have discussions on text exerts, play games (such as MadLibs), do hands-on activates (such as drawing to show understanding), and interactive lessons using YouTube. The topics of this course will cover aspects of sentences: nouns, verbs, and clauses. Mostly this class will focus on how all these come together to make a concise sentence. My teaching style is a tactile-kinesthetic learner. I learn best hands on. In this course, we will be using multiple learning styles (visual, auditory, tactile, and reading. I use these techniques in conjunction with my lesson plans to enhance the learning experience.

Identify and define the basics of sentence structure (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.).
Recognize and construct different sentence types (simple, compound, complex).

I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2015. During my time in college and after college, I did teaching and mentoring for years. Overall, I have been an educator for 16 years. I have taught English, U.S. Government, Public Speaking, and History. Although my training is in Middle/High school, I have taught children as young as 3rd grade and as old as 12th grade.
