What's included
2 live meetings
1 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will learn through powerpoint slides and class discussion. There will be time built into each class for students to discuss topics with one another and ask questions. My teaching style will incorporate visual aids such as encouraging students to draw their own cells as we learn about the different organelles. During the first class we will go through introductions and cover a brief history of eukaryotic cells and what makes them different from prokaryotic cells. We will overview the importance of DNA and describe the different organelles that make up eukaryotic cells. Students will draw each of the organelles in order to demonstrate their understanding of form and function. The second class will briefly review the organelles from the first session before introducing the different types of eukaryotic cells and what makes each unique. We will then describe the main functions that proteins carry out in eukaryotes and why they are important.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their understanding of the function and structure of cells. I hope to encourage my students to further explore the building blocks of life!
