Class Experience

In this building block intro class, we will have fun with a new build challenge each class and presenting our projects! We will provide suggestions and feedback, but the creativity is up to you! Use this class to build your motor skills working with your hands to put together a building, a vehicle, a person, an animal, robots, or whatever you can imagine! We'll practice taking turns and listening to others while talking about our projects.
So bring your building block stash and we'll bring the encouragement!

What you can expect in class:
- Bring your building block stash and a work space to build a new creation!
- Your child will work on motor skills, creative thinking skills, listening skills, story telling to narrate their creation, and public speaking skills to present their project to the class
- We hope to build an encouraging community of friends giving suggestions if needed

What I will help with during this class:
- I will give a "build challenge" and give approx. 10-15 min. build time for students to create their masterpiece
- I will ask questions on what they are working on and offer feedback or suggestions if needed
- I will guide group discussion by allowing all students to share their creation and ask questions
- I will encourage students to practice speaking to the group using descriptive words (size, color, purpose, etc.) of their project
- I have rotating themes for build ideas which I try very hard to make sure your student does not repeat a theme if possible, but it may not be guaranteed to be a new theme. The theme idea is typically posted in the classroom within an hour of class start time so that I can monitor class attendance and decide which theme is best for that class.

The goal of this class is to spend time building a new creation together, make new friends, and of course - have fun!
*Please note: This is a not a structured, formal lesson*

**SUMMER CLASSES INFORMATION:
*Please note: For summer classes (June-August), there is a chance that my child(ren) will be present during class depending on babysitter availability. My boys are 4 and 7, and my infant is 7 months old. I am able to teach more classes and lower my class minimum enrollment by having this potential disruption during class, so I hope you understand! If there are any major problems or conflicts, I will reach out to you directly. Thank you for understanding that working parents at home in the summer sometimes have uncontrollable situations! :-)
