This class is designed to help actors use details to create believable, realistic characters. We will begin by discussing different details that might affect how a character thinks and behaves such as age, likes and dislikes, past experiences, etc. Then learners will have time in class to create a 'bio sheet' for a character. It can be a character they made up or a favorite character they want to play. There will be an example bio sheet presented in class for learners to use as a model. Everyone will have an opportunity to introduce their character. The second half of class will be devoted to learners acting in different scenarios as their character, using the details from their bio sheet to influence their character's behavior.

Hello! My name is Lydia, and I love teaching! I have taught public school, private school, daycare, and home school co-op classes to learners of a wide variety of ages. While I have taught all different kinds of subjects, my favorite subjects are literature and drama (and juggling, if that can be considered a subject!) I enjoy acting in my local community theater.
I know that people learn in a variety of ways. I try to be attentive to my students and adapt my teaching style to suit their needs. I like to have fun while learning!
I live in the beautiful mountains of East Tennesee with my husband and two daughters. My daughters and I really enjoy all the wildlife we get to see.
