This class is for beginners only. In this class, we will build a working Android app that can be used today.

Homework
1 hour per week. There will not be any homework.
Assessment
The learner will be assessed on how well their mobile app works at the end of this lesson. If the app works according to the curriculum, the learner will pass. If the app does not work, the learner will be asked to identify the problem and solve the problem with, or without, the assistance of the other learners.

Class Experience

- Learners will learn by screen-sharing and by following along with the instructor.
- Learners will be allowed to ask questions and interact with each other during the instruction.
- The IDAR teaching method will be used in this instruction.
- Learners will be introduced to Javascript.
- Learners will be introduced to the concept of using blocks to emulate coding.
- Learners will begin to understand how software designers approach building useful technologies and mobile applications to make the world better.
Learning Goals
By the end of this lesson, learners will have an inside look into how coding works in the development of mobile app development.

Learners would have built their first working mobile app in the Andriod environment.

It is anticipated that learners will be more interested in learning how to write computer code to build web apps and mobile apps in the native environment.

Supply List
- Students will need a laptop that is connected to the WIFI (optional)
- Students will need access to WIFI
- Students will need an Andriod mobile device (to see their app once the app has been coded)
- A Gmail account (if possible). If you do not have a Gmail account, you can use App Inventor II by clicking here http://code.appinventor.mit.edu/
