During this class, learners will go through a hyperdoc to help them create a budget. Learners will be assigned a career with a set gross pay. They will learn about taxes and net pay. Using their net pay, learners will have to choose different internet providers, place to live, food etc while staying within their budget. This class will involve a mini lesson, discussion, and using addition and subtraction to complete their budget. The class will be low stress where learners will be able...
Learners will be able to understand gross/net pay and how to create a budget with money left over at the end of the month.
I have taught in an elementary public school for 32 years. I have a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I have tutored math concepts for over 10 years.
Learners might need pencil and paper or something to write on and with. A tablet could be used. Calculator would be helpful, but not required.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
