In this weekly class, students will be challenged to take on a new coding challenge each week.
Class experience
The classes I teach are geared towards giving students the road map to solving the coding problems put in front of them. I help students learn through a series of challenges how to use the layout of the program. In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
We will be using the third party Codespark Academy platform for class. This is a safe for children environment and you will require a free account and a subscription for the student. The platform is a teaching tool for coding students that teaches children ages 3-8 the fundamentals of programming with fun animations. Students will be using pseudonyms in game, so their identities will never be available to be seen by others. This includes if they post a completed game on Codespark. Also there are no chat features or friend requests that can be sent to other users, so rest assured this platform is safe for children.
Parents of students will be required to have an account, with a sub profile created for their child. It is free to download and create a profile, however Codespark requires a paid subscription to be used.
