Class Experience

To continually challenge the kids, and expand their creativity.

*IMPORTANT - This club is set up for ages 10-12 yrs. I also offer a club for ages 7-9 yrs, 13-16 yrs, and 14-18 yrs.*
Being a gameschooling family, Minecraft has been a part of our homeschool days since the purchase of our first copy...for the XBOX 360. Since then we've expanded the collection, and can be found playing on numerous platforms! It's taken on many roles through the years, in our home, and it's been really fun to come up with creative ways to add in another Minecraft project here and there. I love that it offers so many different ways to explore, and so many different ways to be creative. It really does let kids do what they want in a world all for them. Allowing their imagination to run wild, one block at a time!! Theme builds and book builds have to be 2 of my most favorite things to do in Minecraft. I'm a creative, peaceful mode girl!

I can't wait to see what each build challenge turns out like. I am really excited to see how each week inspires every single architect that enrolls in this class. My intention for this class is to spark interest in themes students might not have thought of on their own. It will also give everyone a chance to see the different design choices that can be dreamed up on this versatile gaming platform. This class is designed for students with Minecraft knowledge. There will be no lessons on how to use Minecraft. This class is all about designing builds that meet each week's challenge requirements. How each student interprets the challenge is up to them.

For MORE Minecraft madness, make sure to check out my "Build Reveals - Minecraft Builders Group" AND my "Minecraft Builders FLEX Classes".
Students will work on each week's build challenge, at their own leisure, throughout the week leading up to each class date. Depending on the skills of each architect, and how elaborate they are wanting to get, I'm assuming 4+ hrs will be needed during the week to get the build ready for their big reveal. The builds will need to be completed BEFORE each class starts.

PLEASE NOTE - All build challenges for this club are RANDOMLY chosen. The weekly build challenge will be posted inside the classroom forum once they are chosen for the week. New builders will need to check the "classroom" tab, as well as the "teacher" tab, to find out what the next build challenge is.
It is important you read through the class description for details on how this club works. It is also important to check the classroom announcements often. Students will need to be prepared to show and tell their build. Builds will need to be completed using the build challenge requirements posted inside the classroom announcements page. Screenshot images will need to be ready to go before joining the class. If you are using a handheld device to show the class your build, have it ready to go before joining the class. (For those using a computer version, you are more than welcome to give a "live" walkthrough of your build. Just make sure the chat box is turned off prior to sharing with the class.)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
