Beginner Level
Let's have fun creating while learning about a very important part of life: CELLS! Students will be introduced to the structure and function of cells while building the parts with Play-Doh. Students will learn interesting facts about their body, plants, and bacteria through discussion, Q&A, interesting videos, fun songs, and a hands-on activity! Students will construct an animal cell, plant cell, bacteria cell, and a nerve cell. Learners will need at least three small cans of play-dough. Students may use more colors for a more detailed model (4-6 cans of Play-Dough or clay). I will be using a second spotlighted camera to show step-by-step directions as we make and learn about the cells together. Cell anatomy templates will be provided before each class. Students may print it out to use as a reference or mat to work on. I will talk and ask questions about the cells while creating them. Students can share their finished masterpieces in class or by posting pictures in the classroom. No previous knowledge needed! Join anytime you want! Classes will start over every 4 weeks. Week 1 - Animal Cell Week 2 - Nerve Cell Week 3 - Plant Cell Week 4 - Bacteria Cell * I also offer this class as a flex class if you are interested!
