Class Experience
Welcome to my 1:1 Class designed for children who may feel shy, nervous, or anxious when interacting with others. They may also have low confidence and/or need social skills training. My primary goal is to support learners through these challenges so they can: ✅Emerge with strong communication and social skills, ✅Have a newfound confidence and are, ✅Able to be themselves in social situations. Through personalised lessons, I will address the individual needs of each child, providing tailored guidance to help them break out of their shell and navigate social situations and friendships with ease. During our sessions, children will engage in interactive exercises and role-playing scenarios to practice Growth Mindset, Positive Self-Talk, Social Skills and Communication Techniques. By participating in this 1-2-1 Class, your child will not only develop essential communication and social skills but also gain a sense of empowerment and self-confidence. My ultimate aim is to help children flourish socially, paving the way for improved interaction and communication abilities that will benefit them in all aspects of their lives. Let's work together on this journey to guide your child towards a brighter future filled with confidence, connection, and success. Neurodivergent friendly. Kindly note, these 1:1 classes are not therapy.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, I'm Alison, and I'm thrilled to be here to guide your child on a journey of learning important life skills. With over 16 years of experience as a School Counselor, Special Educational Needs Coach, and School Social Worker, I'm dedicated to teaching social, emotional, and well-being skills to children and young people.
During the last decade, I've worked as an international school counselor. I frequently conducted individual and group sessions covering a range of topics, including social skills, anger management, self-regulation, executive functioning, self-control, ADHD/Autism support, and understanding / responding to strong feelings.
My teaching approach involves a three-part method: engaging students' minds by presenting skills objectively, connecting with their emotions by relating skills to their own experiences, and providing hands-on activities to reinforce learning in a multisensory manner. This ensures a deeper understanding and practical application of the skills taught.
I have been teaching social, emotional, well-being and character development for most of my career. To support this work, I have been trained in and utilize various accredited social and emotional programs, including Zones of Regulation, Kelso's Choices, and Second Step. These programs have also played a key role within my lessons as they promote emotional intelligence, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
I have spent a number of years working with students with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. The focus of my work was on developing their executive functioning, social skills, and academics.
