Note: This course only takes one to four students per session to allow for personal attention as needed. Build Confidence helps your child become more comfortable and confident with who they are and also helps them identify the gifts they have to share with the world around them. This confidence is a shield that will carry your learner from childhood through adulthood and give them the ability to appreciate who they are, the strength to speak up, and the confidence to speak out. Learners will interact with their teacher and other learners through the Outschool classroom to practice showing respect to others, clarifying values, identifying strengths & weaknesses, and avoiding stereotypes. I will partner with them through the next five weeks using games, journaling, videos, research, music, poetry, crafts, etc. Each week, I will introduce the topic via interactive lectures and provide instructions for the week’s assignments. If additional materials are needed, I will make available in the classroom a list of required materials and provide downloadable copies of any handouts they might need. Each week I will also include an extension activity that will give your child the opportunity to explore the topics in different ways at home and also connect more with the other students. At the conclusion of the course, each child will receive a certificate of completion.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a life skills coach, mother, grandmother, teacher, and community youth leader. I have heard many stories from children about being bullied, ignored, and misunderstood. I have also heard many stories about friendship, appreciation, and caring. It hurts to hear stories in the first three categories and I have made it a goal to help as many children as possible become confident in themselves. Why? It is in that confidence where our children can find strength, friends, appreciation, and caring.
