Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing weekly class, learners will practice creative writing techniques using different writing prompts each week. Learners can come and go as they wish, and the stand-alone classes will each cover a different topic. Learners will be encouraged to share ideas and collaborate to build confidence and excitement around their writing. Learners should bring a notebook to class each week to add their writing and build a collection. They will practice skills that will carry over to their...
Students will improve their understanding of the writing process and will build a collection of their writing, while exploring different writing elements and techniques.
Writing between classes is encouraged.
A notebook or journal is needed for this class to collect your writing each week. A simple hardback composition notebook works great. Learners will also need a pen or pencil, and (optionally) basic art supplies (crayons, markers, color pencils, etc.) for illustrations and for some 'out-of-the-box' writing activities.
No assessment is provided, but students are encouraged to submit writing to me through the class messaging if they need help or want feedback.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
