In this class, students will learn the basic elements of story writing and will choose from characters, settings, problems and solutions to build your own story! We'll also discuss how to include those elements into the three main sections of a story, as well as the importance of using adjectives in writing. Students will learn about characters, settings, problems, and solutions. They will learn how every story has a beginning, middle, and end. They will also learn how to use adjectives in their writing.
I have three years of writing experience, involving news articles, copy editing, and proofreading. I have over three years of experience teaching English as a Second Language to international students. I have also been a substitute teacher, as well as an online learning mentor (paraprofessional), where I helped 5th grade students develop and edit their essays.
Homework Offered
Please help your child complete the story after class. They will most likely need help editing their spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. The student will also need to complete the illustrations. Once the story is complete, I encourage you to hole-punch the pages and place in a folder with prongs or staple it for a keepsake!0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
