Description

Class Experience

In this one-time class, students will build a story by learning some techniques of mystery writing. They will use their pet or stuffed animal (which they can bring to class) to create a main character for a mystery story. Students will learn elements of description to create their characters. They will learn some mystery writing vocabulary and create clues that would be found in a mystery story.

Students will write a short mystery story about a pet detective.

Students may continue to write their stories after class and send them to the teacher for feedback.

Bring your pet (or a photo of your pet), or a stuffed animal if desired.
You will need a pen or pencil, paper, and art supplies (crayons, markers, etc.) if you want to illustrate your story.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
