Build-A-Show Club!
Class experience
Participants will work with our Travelling Stage artist educator to build and create their own show through discussion, brainstorming, theatre games, improv, creative writing, music, movement and more. At the end of the week, participants will have a final virtual presentation for parents and family members to watch and enjoy. Students will learn: - the fundamentals of devised theatre (also known as collective creation) - how to brainstorm - how to consolidate ideas - script writing - collaboration with peers - acting and movement techniques to fulfill a story or theme - diction, articulation and enunciation - performance technique
Travelling Stage teachers are industry professionals with professional performing arts experience on stages across North America. Our artist educators are certified teachers with extensive experience teaching in schools and studios. Build-a-Show teachers also have extensive experience with collective creation techniques. The Travelling Stage is well established in over 5000 schools and child care centres across Canada.
Learners should bring something to write with and something to write on.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please make sure that you are set up for class in a distraction-free room with enough space for your child to move around. It's a good idea to have water nearby in case of thirst. We recommend that learners wear proper shoes for movement or non-slip socks.
