What is WordPress?
WordPress is one of the largest used website building platforms that professional website developers use. In my own marketing business, we use WordPress to build websites for business and organizations. WordPress is an easy to use platform that requires very little coding knowledge. Students in this course will not need to know coding to build their own digital portfolio. They may learn a few basic coding techniques.

During class, students will set up a free WordPress account to create their own websites. Creation and setup of WordPress will be taught in this course.

Do I need a resume or cover letter to take this course?
No, you do not need to have a resume or cover letter to take this course. You may already have a resume or cover letter that you would like to tweak and use to build your digital platform, however, I will teach students in this course how to write a high school level resume and cover letter. Templates will be provided.

What is the structure of this class?
During the first half of every lesson, teacher instruction will be provided on how to complete that day’s activity. The second half of every lesson will be letting the students build their portfolios. Students will be asked to present their digital portfolios during the last class.

What’s your teaching style and how will you teach?
I like to have fun in my classes. I am thorough in execution but joyful in presentation. I do expect students to follow instruction and do the assignments and welcome every question a student may ask. I will use slides to help present my lessons and hands on work to engage student learning. I love having students bring in their own learning styles and ways of participation. Since this is a small class, I do expect to interact with all students. I want to learn about my students and what they are experienced in.
