Your child will learn the basics of Unity while building a 3D Obstacle Course (or 'Obby') game in this hands on class that doesn't require any software to install. Just join and get started learning and making!

Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their digital literacy, voice, systems thinking and 3d spatial reasoning.
There is no homework, but students will have the option to work on their game projects outside of class time.
**Students will be using the Outschool Zoom meeting room for the audio and video communication during the class.The instructor will provide a link at the start of the Zoom meeting to access the UME Virtual Studio Classroom platform for all the game making activities. **No Installations required. **Students will need a computer with a keyboard and mouse (trackpads are OK) and Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browser. Minimum versions: Chrome - min version 70.0.0 Firefox - min version 69.0.0 **It is recommended to use one computer for both the Zoom meeting room and the UME virtual classroom. **It is recommended to turn off or temporarily disable a VPN to avoid technical issues in our UME virtual classroom. ***Students will need a computer with a standard keyboard and mouse and Chrome or Firefox browser. No special software to install! We stream the Unity game engine to your child’s web browser.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We use the UME.Games platform to run Unity on a virtual computer. Student projects are saved and publish at ume.games under a free and private student account. Students will be given a link from the UME Instructor on the first day of class. ***No personal information is required to create the account.
